The 2018 Clinical, Cosmetic & Reconstructive Expo

Last week I had the honour of being part of some exciting events in our profession at the 2018 Clinical, Cosmetic & Reconstructive (‘CCR’) Expo at London Olympia.

CCR combines the surgical and non-surgical professions and is a key conference for Surgeons, Doctors, Dermatologists and Nurses, covering the entire aesthetic spectrum.

Over 5,000 delegates attended CCR from over 56 countries, with over 190 Exhibitors. Delegates had access to 2 days of fully CPD accredited conferences and live demonstrations of the latest products and solutions entering the market.

As Faculty and Advisory Board Member for the CCR Expo I enjoyed delivering 3 presentations:

1. What is beauty? Considerations of Ageing, Gender and Culture

2. Treatment blending using a staged approach: – discussing how we integrate our treatments in a strategic approach to deliver optimum results

3. Identifying and managing delayed onset reactions with dermal filler, presented on behalf of Allergan.

This is a hot topic with the increasing number of dermal filler treatments being carried out globally. To inject, we must be equipped with knowledge on how to prevent, minimise, identify and manage these if they occur. Thank you to Allergan for the invitation to present.

I also had the pleasure of being part of the UK launch of EMSculpt by BTL AestheticsAs 1 of the 1st 4 clinics in Europe offering EMSculpt we are now able to offer patients a brand new game-changing technology that precisely targets and builds muscle, whilst simultaneously burning fat.

Delighted to meet Ron Borsheim and Dr David Kent who presented compelling data from their latest EMSculpt clinical studies in the US.

Thank you to the CCR organisers and to everyone who attended, and look forward to seeing you next year.
