S-Thetics Clinic’s Exomind Treatment Featured in the Daily Mail

Miss Sherina Balaratnam, Medical Director of S-Thetics Clinic, shares how the pioneering Exomind brain treatment is helping patients overcome anxiety, burnout and brain fog, without medication.

When Daily Mail beauty and health journalist Anjana Gosai became the first UK journalist to undergo a course of Exomind at S-Thetics Clinic in February 2025, she arrived sceptical. What followed was an experience she described as transformative: something clicking in her mind. Her account, published in the Daily Mail, has since introduced thousands of readers to a form of neurostimulation that Miss Balaratnam has been offering to patients at the clinic’s Beaconsfield location.

What is Exomind?

Exomind is a non-invasive brain treatment founded on over 40 years of clinical research into Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). The device works by generating electromagnetic pulses that induce electrical currents in the brain’s outer layer, specifically targeting the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex: the region responsible for emotional regulation, decision-making and self-perception.

“The brain is the command centre of the body,” Miss Balaratnam explains. “When anxiety sets in, certain areas of the brain can become less active and we are then less emotionally balanced. TMS uses advanced neurostimulation to gently target and stimulate these regions, helping them work more effectively, and increase neuroplasticity.”

Each session is comfortable, drug-free and takes under 30 minutes. There is no downtime, no pain, and no medication involved.

Miss Balaratnam’s Clinical Experience

“I’ve treated high-performing professionals, athletes and women going through menopause, many experiencing anxiety, burnout, brain fog and insomnia. After just six sessions of Exomind, they feel calmer, more focused and emotionally balanced.”

With over 17,000 published TMS-related articles and millions of patients treated globally, the science underpinning Exomind is well-established. At S-Thetics Clinic, Miss Balaratnam offers a programme of six treatments, with 90% of patients reporting an improvement in their mental wellbeing.

Who is Exomind For?

Exomind is suitable for anyone experiencing:

  • Anxiety and persistent worry: including generalised anxiety and high-functioning anxiety in professionals.
  • Burnout and mental fatigue: particularly in those who feel depleted despite adequate sleep.
  • Brain fog: difficulty concentrating, slow thinking or poor mental clarity.
  • Insomnia: especially where anxiety or an overactive mind is the root cause.
  • Menopausal brain symptoms: mood instability, memory changes and emotional dysregulation.

The treatment works by rebuilding and strengthening weakened neural connections, improving neuroplasticity and restoring the brain’s ability to adapt and self-regulate.

What This Means for Our Patients

Being featured in the Daily Mail reflects the growing public appetite for treatments that address mental wellbeing at a biological level, without relying on medication. At S-Thetics Clinic, Miss Balaratnam has long held the view that the brain and body cannot be treated in isolation. Exomind represents the kind of clinically-grounded, evidence-backed approach to wellness that sits at the heart of the clinic’s philosophy.

If you have been struggling with anxiety, poor sleep, low energy or a persistent sense of not feeling like yourself, Exomind may be worth exploring. A consultation with Miss Balaratnam will determine whether the treatment is right for you.
