“Beyond the Facelift” thank you for attending

Thank you to everyone who attended last night’s talk in Beaconsfield:

“Beyond The Facelift: The Synergy between surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures”

Co-presented by Mr Nigel Mercer and Miss Sherina Balaratnam and attended by over 45 guests, the discussion covered a range of aesthetic treatments and how patients can make safe, informed decisions to optimise their treatment journey.

A number of before and after images were shown, illustrating how subtle, natural looking results can be achieved for a range of non-surgical and surgical cosmetic procedures.

With an interactive audience of our 45 guests, there were a number of questions answered, covering both surgical and non-surgical procedures:

  • When is the right age to start injectable treatments?
  • Post eyelid blepharoplasty, will I retain my original eye shape?
  • Do breast implants need replacing every 10 years?
  • What is the best way to optimise and maintain my skin following a facelift procedure?
  • What is the best skincare advice you give your patients?
  • Do you use fat transfer when performing a facelift?

“Behind every good Plastic Surgeon there should be an expert in Cosmetic Medicine” is the mantra that underpinned the meeting at S-Thetics, in Beaconsfield.

Dr Sherina and I have worked together for years and we have a very good understanding of where our strengths are.

The benefit of such a close working relationship is the ability to offer patients the whole spectrum of what is available to improve their concerns, avoiding the risk of patients visiting a singleton practitioner and being advised to have a procedure that is not necessarily the best for their problem.

We hope the audience took away the strength of collaboration and trust that we were putting forward.”

“Beyond the Face Life was a great event about the synergy between surgical and non-surgical procedures.

It was fascinating to hear Dr Sherina Balaratnam talking — and showing plenty of photos to demonstrate – what makes good non-surgical treatment. ‘It’s all about getting people back to looking like who they used to be,’ she said. ‘It’s not about making changes. People just want to look like a fresher version of themselves, not like someone different.’ Which is very much what aesthetics is about just now.

It was a particular treat to hear Nigel Mercer talking in such a frank way about everything from the potential complications of many aspects of surgery, to how OCD surgeons always are(!) — and how a cautious, conservative approach to surgery is always, always the best way to go.

We would like to thank all our guests for attending and Mr Nigel Mercer for his time and expertise.
